The oversized chignon: get the look
This braided chignon is a firm favourite with the Jean Louis David team. This trend was spotted on the Aigner Spring-Summer 2015 runway at Milan Fashion Week. Our pro reveals the key steps to recreating this look at home for yourself.
This chignon is fairly simple to style. ‘Start by washing hair with Hydration and Suppleness Shampoo from the Oil Therapy range. Your aim should be to maximise shine! Dry, then apply a heat-protective spray to your lengths. Straighten section by section, then slick backwards using a round brush and secure into a high-slung ponytail’.
You can now start the fishtail braiding process. ‘To do this, separate your ponytail into two halves. Concentrate on the right section and take a strand from the outer edge. Bring in towards the centre, then cross over to the left section. Repeat this on the opposite side and continue down to the ends, securing with a hair elastic. Finally, roll your lengths backwards into a chignon shape and pin with bobby pins to ensure a firm hold’.
Our advice: Complete the look with a fine misting of Shine Spray for super glossy locks which will smell divine for hours on end. This hairstyle works best with longer, thicker hair types. Try this one out for your next big occasion in your diary for a sophisticated-chic edge.
