How to prevent your hair from changing colour during summer
With September fast approaching, your hair will most likely have garnered some lighter strands thanks to your summer vacation. However, highlights may not be your thing! To prevent your hair from changing colour over the summer, read our pro’s top tips.
Your hair lightens naturally as soon as the sun shows up. ‘During summer, all external aggressions such as sun, sea, chlorine and hot air can wreak havoc on your style. If you don’t want your hair to lighten a few shades, you should keep your hair out of these elements completely or protect it with accessories’.
There are a few solutions to keeping your desired colour vibrant over the warmer months. ‘If your colour is natural, head to your nearest salon and ask for a Gloss treatment; ideal if you’re about to jet off on vacation. However, if your hair is already coloured, try using products from the Colour Therapy range which are perfect for preventing fade and making your colour last longer’.
Our advice: Hair is a dead material: once the colour pigments have faded, they will not return. Nevertheless, even if your hair lightens during summer, this should only be a very subtle change, unless you’ve spent months on end in the sun.
