How do you get the dip dye look when you're a brunette?

Do you want to light up your dark locks with a dip dye? Is this two-tone effect just what you need? Here is how to adopt this look, even if you have very dark hair.

Go for a dip dye suited to your base colour

Brunettes of any shade can go for this partial colouring technique without any worries: the shade which lightens your locks from the mid-lengths down to the tips can easily be tailored to your chestnut, brown or ebony brown hair for a result that looks right. Whatever you do, don’t create too stark a contrast between dark roots and light tips! The lightening must not exceed three tones, so that it showcases your original colour and your potentially dark complexion. Those who have medium brown locks can opt for a caramel or honey blond colour for a natural result. Those with deep brown hair should opt for a light to dark chestnut dip dye to add a flash of light to their locks. You can then show off two-tone locks with a distinct contrast but an elegant lightening effect which will not ruin your brown shade. Dip dye is also sure to give you a radiant complexion!

Take care of your locks

Lightening your brown locks does have consequences. After a dip dye, your hair needs to be pampered. Make way for an array of keratin-based repair treatments, such as Jean Louis David’s Keratin Therapy range. Once a week, you can also apply a plant oil to replenish your dried-out hair.
