Hair SOS: how to deal with dry hair

Is your hair coarse, unruly and difficult to style? You could be suffering from dry hair. Let’s take a look at some tips and tricks that will help your hair get back to looking and feeling its best.

Hydrate your hair daily. Select products that are ultra-soft on your hair, and especially ones that have been designed for dry hair, similar to those in the Hydra Therapy range. Must-haves? A daily cream and shampoo. Whilst washing your hair, massage your scalp to boost circulation. Ideally, you should be aiming to wash your locks just two times a week and finish your routine by rinsing in cold water. This tip is fantastic for making hair supply and shiny.

Deeply nourish your locks. This is one of the most important things to keep in mind when trying to repair your dry hair. Once a week, apply a hair mask that suits your hair type, just after shampooing. Leave to work its magic for a few minutes then rinse thoroughly. If your hair is dry, it’s probably because your hair isn’t producing enough sebum. Choose products that are enriched with nourishing oils that smooth your hair (such as almond, olive, argan or keratin), which will deeply penetrate the hair shaft, making it easier to repair.

Avoid further damage. If you hair is coarse and dry, try to limit the amount of heated styling tools you use, instead allowing your locks to air-dry naturally. What’s more, you need to protect your style from sun damage, pollution, humidity and even wind with cleverly placed accessories. Finally, always de-tangle your hair gently and once your style is complete, try not to touch for the whole day.
