Christmas gifts 2016: our hygge selection
Every month, we tell you about our editing team’s most recent favourites. This time, take a look at a selection of oh-so-hygge gifts that are perfect for the Christmas holidays!
1. Flowers selected with care
If one of your closest friends loves decorating their home with flowers, why not give them a subscription to Bergamotte bouquets? The company offers modern and sophisticated creations (pictured above, the Portsea bouquet) put together each month by floral designers. On their website , select an option (a delivery twice a month or every week) and the size of the bouquet you wish to have. Seven days before delivery, Bergamotte gives you a choice of four creations to pick from. In due course you have fresh cut flowers in your home, arranged and delivered in a very short period of time to guarantee maximum freshness.
From €35.90 per delivery (not including delivery costs).
2. A book for passionate people
This book dedicated to popular plants contains 336 poetic, fascinating pages. Brent Elliott, an archivist for almost 40 years at the Royal Horticultural Society in London, shares the adventures of botanists and intrepid plant hunters through the centuries. Stories finely illustrated with botanical paintings, prints and sets of pictures. The perfect book to read in front of the fire!
Flora, An Illustrated History of the Garden Flower, by Brent Elliott. Published by Delachaux & Niestlé, €45.
3. A warm headband
A woollen headband is a great alternative to a hat, protecting you from the cold whilst keeping your hairstyle looking good. We fell in love with this 100% cashmere design, hand-knitted and handmade in Nepal. Besides this slate grey version (pictured above), it also comes in Morello cherry, Payne’s grey and black.
Muskhane, €49, www.muskhane.com
4. Organic maple syrup
Want to please someone with gourmet tastes? This organic maple syrup is a rarity! Produced in very small quantities, it is exclusively made from the sap from the maple trees’ first flow… Which limits the harvest to the first three days of the season. A “light” velvety syrup (in this period, the sap is less concentrated), perfect for eating with pancakes!
Escuminac, €13.90 per 200ml, La Grande Épicerie, Paris, http://www.lagrandeepicerie.com/
5. A designer chair
Created by designer Jean-Louis Iratzoki for the brand Alki, this chair will delight fans of minimalist furniture. Designed around a solid oak frame, the seat can be upholstered with fabric, leather or faux leather depending on which variation you go for. We fell in love with the yellow version, perfect for livening up a room.

6. A cute bracelet
Handmade in a Parisian workshop by the Lauclem brand, these Nata bracelets will delight any stylish lady. Lurex and gold-plated beads to wear on the wrist with an adjustable slipknot fastener… Start collecting these bracelets today!

7. A graphic design cushion
Who says too many colours ruin a print? This cushion, made by Ferm Living, proves them wrong! It’s the perfect finishing touch to jazz up a sofa.
Made by: Ferm Living, 100% organic cotton cover, pure goose down stuffing, comes in sizes 80 x 40 cm (€67.50) and 60 x 40 cm (€54). http://www.goodobject.me/
