Chiara, 25: “Taking inspiration from American TV shows for a preppy look”

Your look? I’ve always loved girly, sophisticated looks. My grandma was a dressmaker and passed on her love for beautiful clothes to my mother, so that’s obviously where I get it from! I’m always careful to choose my clothes depending on their fit and to suit my own style, but the image they carry is also important. Clothes should tell a story and need to be flawlessly chic, retro and ultra-trendy. This is a dress code I’ve stuck to a lot more since Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf became such a fashion icon! People no longer give me odd looks for my retro dress sense!

Your hairstyle? I have fine hair and always have difficulty trying to get it to stay in place. I usually wear it up to avoid it looking lifeless. But not just any old how! You need that something extra to turn a simple ponytail or chignon into a sophisticated hairstyle. I’ve also opted for a fringe to customise the style and add my own personal touch… though I guess you can hardly call a fringe original! I style it with a comb and spray hairspray onto it to avoid any risk of frizz throughout the day.

Your look today? My hair is in a neat chignon. I brushed my hair and used anti-frizz serum to tame any flyaway hairs. I fixed the whole style in place with hair pins. It’s very easy to do! I then worked on my fringe, styling it with a round brush for a bit of shape and to stop it looking too straight. To complete the preppy look, I attach a headpiece at the top of my hair. Black to “chicify” and customise my hairstyle!
