Blond hair: how to become a brunette (without regretting it)

Winter is approaching. You have decided to swap your bright blond hair for warm brown… Find out our advice to successfully transform your color and reveal the brown haired beauty which lies dormant within you!

What technique is used?

Going from blond to brunette is quite easy. In the first place, your hairdresser will apply a pre-coloring treatment. The objective? To allow your blond hair to take a darker color. Subsequently, this darker color will be able to fix onto the hair shaft in a long lasting way. Finally, your hairdresser will apply the brown hair coloring of your choice from the roots to the tips. This coloring technique will not damage your hair if carried out correctly.

Our advice: always go to your salon for a professional and personalized result. If you are attempting this adventure in your own at home, your color is at risk of not holding well over time and it may damage your hair.

Is it irreversible?

If you have opted for permanent coloring, you will not be able to go back to your natural color. You will have to bleach your hair to go blond again. Temporary coloring will fade gradually when you shampoo your hair. However, the opposite path (brunette to blond) is still complicated, as your hairdresser must strip your hair, thereby sensitizing it.

How do I maintain my color?

A beautiful color requires regular upkeep, both in the salon and at home. Every 6 weeks, go and see your hairdresser for touch-ups on your roots. This is essential to prevent any beauty faux-pas! Finally, integrate into your hair regime products from the Color Therapy range. They allow you to pamper your color on a daily basis, for shiny hair which is full of vitality.
