Aganovich’s faux-cropped style spotted on the runway

This season, hairstyles that use clever trickery are top of every designer’s list. Tempted to give the faux-cropped style a go? Mid-length and long hair are the ideal length.

The trend. This look was spotted on the Aganovich Autumn-Winter 2014-2015 runway show at Paris Fashion Week. Hair was worn in an updo, slicked back and tucked neatly behind the ears, with one single strand sweeping across the forehead, creating a boyish vibe. Nude make-up was a key element to the designer’s catwalk. The result? A sophisticated and natural feel complete with classic, monochrome outfits.

Who can wear the faux-cropped style? This style is ideal for women who don’t want to commit to cutting their hair. From the front, you’d think you’d been to the salon for a dramatic boyish crop! This smarter version of the faux-bob instantly opens up the face and highlights the wearer’s features. This boyish-chic style is one of this winter’s ‘it’ hairstyles. Finally, the handy trick may be just what it takes to convince you that you prefer shorter hair and eventually make an appointment with your stylist!

Get the runway look. Start with freshly washed hair that has been de-tangled and blow dried. Create a side parting and allow a strand to hang loose at the front. Gather the rest of your hair at the nape of the neck and tie into a low-slung ponytail. This should be as discreet as possible to nail the look. Next, strategically place your front section across the forehead for a stylish touch, pinning into place. Spray evenly with hairspray to ensure a long-lasting hold.
