When preparing for a day in the sun, don’t forget sun protection products for your hair. Especially if your hair is already fragile.
Before heading to the beach, opt for easy-to-apply, leave-in products designed for your hair type. “Oils or liquids are great in these situations. Apply just before you leave the house and you’re ready to face the sun!”
No one’s stopping you from not protecting your hair before, after and during sun exposure. But we definitely recommend it. “After-sun treatments are particularly important. It’s up to you whether or not you want to apply a treatment before or during sun exposure, but never forget to apply an after-sun treatment. After-sun treatments protect the scalp from UV rays and external aggressions whilst nourishing your hair.”
Be careful with certain products you think might be good for your hair during sun exposure. “Monoï oil, for example, is very harmful. It dries out hair, makes it heat up more quickly and causes damage. Always choose “sun” products. These are the only products that are suitable.”
Our tip: If you don’t have any sun products to hand, use deeply nourishing products. These are good for use after sun exposure. You can make do with products for dry hair in order to protect and nourish your hair during this period.
