Ponytails, chignons and half-ponytails, take a closer look at these 3 romantic, simple-to-create and on trend hairstyles. You're bound to fall in love with them!
First of all, thoroughly detangle your hair. Make a middle parting using a fine-tooth comb. Then separate out a relatively wide section at the front, on the right-hand side of your parting. Divide it into two strands, before twisting it down to mid-length. Try not to tighten it too much, to create a more Bohemian look. Then hold it in place with an elasticated hair tie.
Repeat this on the other side. Once you have finished, gather your hair together (twists included) at the nape of your neck and tie it up into a low ponytail. What is the little detail which makes all the difference? Wrapping a strand around your elasticated hair tie to conceal it. Hold it in place with a flat hairpin, carefully hidden underneath your ponytail.
Start by carefully detangling your hair with a brush. Gather your locks on top of your head, then tie them up into a high ponytail. Feed your hair through the middle of a foam donut, which you will place at the base of your ponytail.
Then hide your donut accessory by wrapping your hair around it. Hold the style in place with as many hairpins as are needed. And there's your chignon! All you need do now is pull gently at the chignon with your fingertips to give it a floaty messy-style look. You can also take a few strands out of the chignon for a de-styled look. Finish it off with hairspray for optimum hold.
To successfully create this hairstyle, work with perfectly detangled hair. Then make a clear middle parting using a fine-tooth comb. Separate out two relatively thick strands on either side. Gather them together towards the back of your head, then tie them together with an elasticated hair tie.
Now move on to creating your fishtail braid. Divide your half-ponytail into two equal parts. Select an outer strand from the right-hand side and bring it back into the centre. Do the same thing on the left-hand side. Continue doing this until you reach the tips, always selecting strands of the same thickness to create an even finish. Remove your elasticated hair tie from the base of your plait and use it to tie your hair together at the tips. To finish, hold it all in place with hairspray.
