The remarkable return to 90s hair styles

Are you feeling nostalgic for the 90s? Over the last few months we’ve seen a notable return of nineties hairstyles among our favourite stars and fashionistas! If you want to be on trend in 2021, you just need to step back in time, or look for inspiration in photos and magazines from 30 years ago.

From demure to daring

In the 90s, tight curls were in, for a classy, demure little English girl look. Today those curls are back in the spotlight. But they’ve been reinvented somewhat: this time it’s just the ends of the hair that have been curled and it’s been fixed with Jean Louis David GO Style Fix Spray.
Another idea for a refined and subtle look: fines braids that delicately adorn the front of the face are also back. For a more extravagant look, try pigtails, and in particular the double bun, two little buns on top of the head, one on each side.

Colour that sets the tone

Numerous 90s singers swore by contrast sections and they’re making a fashion comeback in 2021. The Rogue Hair effect is now very popular with pop icons everywhere – it consists of much lighter sections that contrast with the main hair colour and frame the face.
Want to be even more daring? Those who aren’t afraid to be original can go for a vivid colour (blue, pink, lavender or even green) as this is also very much on trend at the moment.

It’s all in the accessories

Recently, we’ve seen headbands, clips, and scrunchies everywhere! It’s an easy trend to follow, there’s only one thing to remember: the more visible the better. Go for colourful accessories or ones with pearls or rhinestones, anything’s possible. It’s a fun way to finish off a retro hairstyle that will take you straight back to the crazy energy of the 90s!
