My post-new year hair rehab programme
When the festive season comes to an end, after a good few parties, your hair and body need to relax, unwind and indulge in a recuperating detox. There’s no better time than January to get things off to a great start for the year ahead.
It’s true that all that partying effects your hair. ‘Not only that but your body too! If you overindulge over Christmas and consume more alcohol than your body is used to, both your skin and hair will suffer in the long-run’.
Treat your body to a detox programme to get you back to your best. ‘Work on the key elements that will benefit your locks. Remember to take vitamins regularly or try washing your hair in beer which promotes cell regeneration and leaves hair with an amazing shine’.
Using the correct products will help too. ‘Select which one is best for you depending on your hair concerns. If your locks are greasy (perhaps because of overindulging over December) you need to address the problem at the roots whereas others should concentrate on repairing their mid-lengths and ends. You don’t need to break the bank to get your hair back to full strength…DIY treatments at home work just as well’.
Our advice: Your hair rehab programme should not include a new color! Instead, leave your color refresh for after the party-season or before an important event. One week before is the ideal time period as this gives your hair time to rest and appear more natural.
