How to have great hair from the moment you wake up

Snuggling up under the covers at night is pure bliss. You wake up the next day raring to go, but not always with the best hairstyle. Follow our advice on how to avoid flyaway or lifeless hair.

First tip, wash your hair in the morning rather than the evening. That way your hair will look great all day long! If you tend to be in a rush in the morning and you don’t have time to wash your hair, wash it in the evening, but make sure you dry it before going to sleep. This will stop you from having to battle with frizz, unwanted waves or curled up hair the next day. “Though it’s best to wash your hair in the morning, what happens on the second day? The lifeless effect is often unavoidable… So to liven it up a bit, get up, turn your head upside down and re-boost your hair’s volume at the roots using your fingers.” You can also use styling products, such as a styling mousse, to boost your hair (use sparingly), or a texturizing powder.

To make sure your hair is looking lovely from the moment you wake up, it’s important you untangle it before going to bed. “Brushing and untangling your hair at the end of the day is just as important as taking your make-up off at night. You wash your skin to get rid of the impurities collected during the day. The same goes for your hair. Brushing your hair will get rid of impurities and any residue from the hair products you’ve used.” This will stop it from knotting overnight or looking dull when you wake up!

Our tip: If your roots tend to go greasy quickly, use a dry shampoo to balance it out. Spray it on your roots when you get up, leave it to work its magic for a few minutes, then comb your hair. Clean-looking hair guaranteed!
