Getting the most out of your conditioner…

Conditioner is a must-have for keeping tangles at bay. It enhances your hair’s natural shine whilst gently nourishing and preventing knots. Let’s take a more in-depth look at this trusty haircare product.

You should be selecting a conditioner based on its benefits and your individual hair type. ‘Conditioners can work miracles if you select the correct formula for your hair type. Use for around 2-3 weeks to see results and determine whether you want to continue or try out an alternative formula. You can identify which conditioner to select by taking into account the thickness of your hair, how healthy your ends are, whether your roots get greasy quickly and how often you get tangles and breakages’.

You only need to use a small amount of conditioner after washing your locks. ‘Conditioners tend to be concentrated formulas that are very rich. You only need a small coin-sized amount to minimize tangles easily. Our top tip? Start with a small amount, then add more if you need to, combing through with a wide-tooth comb. Allow to rest on your mid-lengths and ends for a couple of minutes for a glossy shine. Careful, however, if your hair tends to become weighed down when using conditioner…rinse out slightly earlier to prevent flat locks.

Our advice: Whichever conditioner you decide to use, make sure you opt for a lightweight formula to keep your hair healthy and voluminous.
