All it takes is some drizzle for your locks go frizzy. Read on to find out what you can do to keep your blow-dried style looking great until you next wash your hair.
Once your hair is washed (if you have thick hair, repeat the shampooing stage to eliminate dust and excess sebum), continue your regime by using a sulfate-free mask which will nourish your hair without stripping it. Well moisturised hair will be easier to detangle and consequently style. When it comes to washing off the mask, rinse cold water over your locks to close the cuticles. Apply an anti-frizz serum all over your squeezed-out hair to tame any unruly strands. This will save you having to use excessive heat to straighten your locks. Once dried, your hair should seem shinier .
Rubbing your hair with a towel can cause more static electricity to form. If you are in a rush, use the cold air setting on your hairdryer.
This is the must-have accessory for successful blow-dry styling. To choose a round brush , there are several criteria you should take into consideration. First consider the length of your hair. If you have short hair, opt for a brush with a small diameter. If you have long locks and you wish to create soft blow-dried looks, go for a round brush with an average diameter. Also take into account your hair type. For thick hair, a large round brush makes straightening easier and is easier to handle. Note that smaller diameters are also handy for giving volume to your roots.
Another important criteria: the material your brush is made out of. Instead of overly damaging metal, opt for a ceramic coating which spreads the heat out evenly. In tandem with this, choose close together bristles to grip onto the hair or widely spaced bristles if you wish to achieve a smooth straightening effect. Finally, if your hair is frizzy or weakened, opt for a soft bristle hairbrush, such as a hog's hair brush, for less damaging blow-drying.
Poorly dried hair tends to create frizz. To get your blow-dried style to hold, go over each strand as many times as required (though no more than 4-5 times) with the hairdryer. But remember to keep your hairdryer 5cm away from the brush to avoid overly damaging your hair.
Apply one or two drops of sweet almond essential oil to your straightened locks to nourish your tips. This step is essential for healthy, and therefore glossy locks. Apply hairspray for maximum hold.
One last tip. In the evening, cover your pillow with a silk or satin scarf to prevent your hair from getting tangled when you sleep. This allows you to hold onto your blow-dried style until the following day.
