What mask for coloured hair?

Each hair type requires specific upkeep and products. This is especially true for coloured hair. Not only do you need to ensure your colour stays looking radiant, but also that it stays healthy and avoids damage due to repeated colouring. Here’s a look at the perfect masks for coloured hair.

Your first step is obviously to choose a mask for coloured hair. “Rich in vitamin E, they retain your colour and leave it looking radiant. These products will leave your hair nice and shiny for longer!”

As well as needing to keep their shine, coloured hair also needs to be hydrated. “Using a mask at least once a week will keep your hair looking healthy. Alternate between a mask for coloured hair and a product for dry hair, as hair is often fragile following repeated colouring and therefore needs repairing.

When using a product for dry hair, concentrate on the mid-lengths and ends. These are particularly fragile. “The mid-lengths and ends dry out quicker than the rest of your hair. Leave the mask on for at least ten minutes so that it can soak in. Keratin can be a god-send when hair is really fragile.”

Our tip: to optimise the mask’s effect on coloured hair, wrap your hair in a hot towel once applied if you have time. This will leave your colour looking even more radiant!
