How does dandruff appear?

It is dead skin which detaches from your scalp when it is regenerating. The reproduction cycle of your epidermis lasts roughly 3 days. Consequently, you remove this dandruff each time you shampoo your hair.

Why are you producing an excess amount?

There are several causes. “Firstly, there are different types of dandruff. Dry dandruff, which generally falls on your shoulders. Oily dandruff which stays stuck to your scalp. Temporary dandruff which is often due to an unhealthy lifestyle (excess food during the festive period), and chronic dandruff, which needs in depth treatment. Furthermore, some people are convinced they have dandruff when they actually suffer from psoriasis.”

How can you treat it?

Wash your hair two to three times a week maximum. “You absolutely must space out how often you wash your hair. In fact, if your sebaceous gland is stimulated on a daily basis, it will produce more dandruff. However, there are specific treatments which are very effective at combatting dandruff: anti-dandruff shampoo or lotion which you can apply to soak in overnight. Above all, follow your treatment regularly to obtain a conclusive result.”
