Greasy roots, split ends... What solutions are available to me?

Are you worried about the dreadful duo of ‘greasy roots and split ends’ and want to know how to get rid of them? Check out our expert’s advice to make your hair shine again in no time.

This phenomenon is easy to explain. “Your ends represent the oldest and most fragile part of your hair. They are sensitive to chemical assaults such as dyes or external effects like the weather. They often become dry. By contrast, the root is the newest part of each hair. It’s often greasy because you naturally produce an excess of sebum. They show what your hair is really like, while your ends show what it has gone through.”

Start a targeted hair routine. “The Balance and Purity shampoo from the Control Therapy range has been designed for you. It controls the secretion of sebum, while hydrating the length of your hair and the ends. Use it 2-3 times a week at the most. In fact, when your roots are greasy, you should spread out how often you shampoo. The reason? The more you shampoo, the more you stimulate the sebaceous gland which produces sebum.”

Our advice. Between shampoos and every morning, spray the Shine and Soft leave-in treatment on your split ends. As the days go by, this treatment from the Hydra Therapy range will restore your hair’s health and vitality.
