Brown hair: what if I colored my hair blond?

On trend and timeless, blond is one of the most sought after colors by women. Even brunettes want to get it! But before taking the plunge, discover how to choose which blond to opt for and how to pamper your hair.

First of all, is it possible?

Yes, of course you can go blond! Today, coloring techniques are so reliable they let you have any hair color. However, going from brunette to blond isn’t done without repercussions! It requires professional and personalized work as blond is obtained after successive bleaching which strips your hair of its color to make it lighter.

Our advice: only opt for blond coloring if your hair is in full health. Hair which is too fine, dry or fragile will not be able to withstand this radical change and will definitely get damaged.

Which tones should I opt for?

The vitality of your hair is your number 1 priority. The lighter the blond you choose, the more bleaching you will have to do. Therefore, avoid white blond or platinum blond which are much too far away from your base color. Instead, go for darker tones, such as ash blond, golden blond, copper-colored blond or even caramel blond. The compromise: opt for luminous light brown which will make your hair visibly lighter, whilst staying close to your initial color.

How do I maintain my colored hair?

Blond requires constant upkeep to maintain its shine over time. Once colored, visit your hair salon roughly every 6 weeks. This is the perfect frequency to carry out touch-ups on your roots and to give your color a boost. At home, your hair will also require pampering. Your essential treatments? Products from the Color Therapy range which are specifically designed to revive your hair’s shine and preserve its health.
