Audrey’s most radical hairstyle change

At the risk of sounding superficial, I’ve always looked after my appearance. I rarely used to go out without make-up on, without having worked on my hair or without having thought long and hard about my outfit. And then one day I’d had enough. After a huge change in my life I felt like it was time to cut my hair, a way of turning over a new leaf.

I went to the hairdresser’s ready for a change, for something that would bring out the real me: my rebellious side, my soft spot for punk music and my view on life. I’ve always admired girls who get their hair cut really short yet manage to keep their look really feminine. I’ve never really dared. And then I made a decision: I wanted short hair with a mohican in the middle. This might sound crazy but I thought it was bold and feminine, even sexy.

Having spent years trying to find the real me, I finally got this mohican, which I often dye using temporary hair dyes. People do sometimes look at me as if I’m from another planet, but I enjoy standing out from the crowd! Who knows, maybe one day I’ll change it, but for now I’m more than happy with a somewhat masculine hairstyle balanced out with feminine make-up and clothes. I guess I just like to be different!
