Are flowers and feathers the next big hair accessories?

Sunny days are linked to romantic dates, floaty summer dresses and flower hair accessories. Especially for summer 2014! The catwalk has been awash with flowers, feathers and other hair accessories. Let’s take a look at this summer’s must-have hair accessories.

The trend. This trend is perfect for women whose style is somewhere in between bohemian and romantic chic. Up until now, hair accessories have been fairly minimal and on the small side this year. Feathers are now being worn as a statement accessory and flowers are being dotted randomly around hairstyles, especially braided hair. Don’t be seen without one of these top summer trends, even this spring!

How to wear it. It’s all about quantity, even with flowers. If you think you might get carried away with your accessories, think again. It’s better to use your accessories sparingly rather than go overboard. One flower or feather is enough to bring structure to your style. For an evening look, try wearing a flower hairband to add a chic touch to your outfit.

When choosing your hair accessory, stick to what you know and are comfortable with. For those who like wearing big, flouncy, pastel colored dresses, go for flowers. Those who have a more unique, exuberant sense of style should try feathers. Whatever your hairstyle and accessory, be sure to spray your finished look with a layer of hairspray to keep everything securely in place.
