“Many brunettes dream of having blond hair. But it works both ways. I’ve always been fascinated by brunettes… I find them charismatic, feisty and full of character. The complete opposite of me basically. I’m not the kind of person to think that only appearances count, but a little boost never hurt anyone!
I’ve never had my hair coloured. I’ve just used temporary colour as a teen to copy my friends. So going from blond to brown was a real change for me! And at first I didn’t really know if I’d be confident enough for it.
One thing that reassured me is my skin tone. As I didn’t really have the skin tone of your average blond, there was no need to fear having too striking a contrast between my skin colour and my hair. After a chat with my hairdresser to make sure we’d understood each other, I decided to go for it. It felt like a long few minutes as my hairdresser was putting the colour on my hair. But once my hair had been dried and styled, I fell in love with it straightaway. I don’t feel like I’ve changed the way I look dramatically but I do feel a lot more confident, more mature. Maybe because a darker colour also tends to harden your features. And so that the result lasts, I visit my hairdresser regularly to have my roots touched up and my highlights refreshed.
