The visor gets a 2014 style upgrade
Summer 2014 is set to see the sports-luxe trend take the fashion world by storm, meaning hairstyles are sure to follow suit. Minimal, simple styles will be updated with sporty, statement accessories. How do we know you ask? Just take a look at the recent Marni catwalk show which featured statement, jewel encrusted visors.
2014’s take on the visor. We’ve truly outgrown the idea that visors only serve to protect our eyes from the sun. Today, the traditional visor is getting a style overhaul thanks to statement jewel embellishment, which will ensure your look is more sports luxe than tennis mom. The visor is becoming much more versatile too, meaning you can wear one for shopping with friends as well as any sporting activities. Opt for a bejewelled visor this season to give your style an elegant, yet modern, look.
Who can wear it? All of you who want to protect your eyes from the sun whilst staying firmly on-trend. Mix-and-match your look by adding a statement visor, which will twinkle in the sun. More is definitely more for Spring-Summer this year when it comes to headgear!
How to style hair whilst wearing a visor. Copy the styles on the Marni runway. Your style should feature a centre parting and long straight lengths. The only drawback? Wearing your visor in the middle or your forehead means the brim is bound to become dirty with unavoidable traces of make-up over time. Wear yours closer to your roots to prevent this from happening. Once you’ve styled your hair to perfection, add a colour-coordinating visor. Monochrome tends to be the best color combo for maximum effect. If you struggle to find a jewelled visor to your liking, get crafty and create a DIY version!
