Streetstyle: 2015’s take on the high-contrast dip-dye

For several years now, the dip-dye trend has been going strong amongst the fashion elite. For winter 2014-2015, this trend is just as popular, with a subtle variation. This season’s take on the look is all about the high-contrast element.

Her hair. Wavy mid-lengths make this high-contrast dip-dye unique. The color difference between roots and lengths is much more noticeable, fading to ash blonde on the mid-lengths and ends. This contrast is high impact, allowing our streetstyle pick to wear her two favorite hair shades at once. The best way to show off this duo of tonal colors? Soft waves of course! This technique adds shine and perfectly displays the high-contrast levels.

Her look. Pastel is the key word when it comes to describing our streetstyle wearer’s ensemble. To keep the winter gloom at bay, she’s opted for powder-esque pieces. Pink high-waisted shorts combine with a baby-blue jacket around her shoulders. Everything about her outfit is pastel perfect. What better way to keep all of the attention on her high-contrast dip-dye?

Tip of the day. Never attempt a DIY dip-dye at home. Head to your salon and discuss your color transformation with a qualified stylist. A professional will be able to provide you with the very best results and a sublime color. And who knows, you may decide to take advantage of the Speed Curl service while you’re at it to perfectly replicate our streetstyle wearer’s look!
