Add a pop of color with a statement hat

What if you could magic away the doom and gloom of winter thanks to a splash of color? Jean Louis David is well ahead of the crowd and made copper hair its flagship shade this season. It seems that designers seem to be getting the message too, with bright pops of color being added to darker outfits. The proof? Just take a look at the hats on the Saint Laurent runway.

For winter 2015, it’s all about having a put-together look. Although you may assume that this involves lots of black and structured pieces, it seems that the winds are changing and inviting fresh new colors into our seasonal palette. Rather than swamping your body in layers of black and grey, add some excitement with a statement hat in a colorful hue. Bring out your playful side and brighten up somebody’s day while you’re at it! There’s nothing better than adding a dash of humor and frivolity to your look.

Keen to try this new trend? Look to the Saint Laurent runway for inspiration; structured hats were everywhere. Clean cut lines, a structured upper with a beautiful rich red shade. Whether you prefer blue, red or even orange, make sure you match yours with your hair color. Ideally, opt for a contrast for a more refined finish. In terms of your hairstyle, there’s two simple options. Opt for loose lengths or a topknot with a few wispy strands. This season’s hat oozes femininity and is guaranteed to get you noticed!
