The Pros: The roomy beanie hat

The beanie is a timeless hat that never goes out of fashion and reappears every winter. Its main aim is to keep you warm whilst remaining stylish. Let’s take a look at the oversized cosy version which is one of this season’s must-haves! The pros reveal all the benefits and their top tips to wearing the cosy beanie.

The cosy beanie is the ideal hat to cover large, voluminous hairstyles. ‘Of course, it keeps your head and ears nice and warm throughout the winter. However, similar to most hats, it can flatten your style, especially if your hair is naturally fine or super-soft. Our top tip: once you arrive at work, spritz lightly with a styling spray to boost volume and inject some life back into your look’.

Is the cosy beanie better than other hats for protecting your locks? ‘Considering that this hat generates heat around the head area, not necessarily. In fact, the beanie can actually cut off the air circulation to your roots. Nevertheless, hats which sit tightly on the head will suffocate this area even more, so the roomy beanie will at least keep your style looking full of body and movement. If you wear a hat on a day to day basis, you won’t need to wash your hair as regularly, as the upper section will be hidden. Simply continue your regular haircare routine.

Our advice: If your roots tend to appear greasy after removing your beanie, spray all over with dry shampoo to liven up your look and add some volume.
