Marielle, 26: “Sixties inspiration for a glam-rock hairstyle”

Your look? Like my hair, very retro. I get my inspiration from the sixties so I often wear skirts and dresses. As for shoes, I’m addicted to heels, which I find ultra-feminine. But this doesn’t mean I don’t slip a pair of ballerina pumps into my handbag to help me through the day! I make sure my make-up, hair and accessories go with the rest of my outfit.

Your hairstyle? Amy Winehouse is my hairstyle idol, minus the trashy side… I quickly fell in love with her huge, backcombed styles so I decided to let my hair grow out so I could try her oversize styles out on myself. I take special care of my ends to stop them from splitting and use hydrating treatments on them every day to stop them getting dry. I wear my hair down most of the time, so even more reason to ensure it doesn’t get dry or dull!

Your look today? An oversize half-ponytail. Very sixties and resolutely glam-rock. I start by brushing my hair to get it nice and soft, then create a side-parting. I then pull the front of my hair back, separating it from the rest of my hair. Next, I take my comb and backcomb the top of my hair to add as much volume as possible. Once this section is nice and big, I style it into a half-ponytail. A blast of hairspray and my hair is ready for the day!
