Streetstyle: Styling your hair with a hat

Her look? A chic, classic look boosted with glam’rock details. For a glam’rock look, think studded boots or slippers, clutch bags, skull rings, leather and fedora or borsalino hats. As for colours, go for the darkest ones you’ve got! Black, burgundy, electric blue or plum are ideal. The must-have accessory here is the hat. No doubt about it.

Her hairstyle? With a hat, you can’t choose just any hairstyle. If you have short hair, simply place the hat on your head. For mid-length or long hair, you’re going to need to work with it. Our streetstyle of the day knows this all too well and has gone for a low, side ponytail. Forget chignons and high ponies!

Tip of the day. To avoid the lifeless effect that often results from wearing a hat, dry your hair with your head down to lift the roots. If your hat makes your hair go static, keep a little can of hairspray or a bottle of serum with you to tame the hair that gives you grief!
