Help: how can I repair my hair after the summer?
So you’ve enjoyed a summer of sunshine, spent some time at the beach and the pool – you’ve let your hair down during the holidays, both figuratively and literally. And now it’s time to look after your hair again. With a little care and attention, you can shake off the post-summer blues and have gorgeous hair once more.
Purify and nourish your scalp
Although we mostly love summertime, our hair is less of a fan. Chlorine, UV rays, salt and sand, and even build up from our protective haircare products can take its toll on our hair. To get back to your original pre-summer state, try a scalp scrub. Apply before shampooing your hair, let it get to work for a few minutes, then rinse it off. It’s a good idea to cleanse your scalp like this once or twice a month.
Then revitalise your hair from roots to tips with Jean Louis David’s GO REPAIR range designed specially for dry and sensitive hair that’s fragile and prone to breakage. The shampoo and hair mask nourish and bring shine to your hair. Use the GO REPAIR Nectar, a leave-in product, to bring extra softness and vitality to your tresses.
Get into good habits
To give your hair a bit of a holiday in this post-summer period, avoid asking too much of it. Limit your use of hair straighteners and curling irons for a few weeks, and, yes – the hair dryer too. Let your hair dry naturally whenever possible. Braiding your hair while it’s damp gives it a wavy effect that will make you feel like it’s still summertime.
Pay your hairdresser a visit
To keep your hair perfectly healthy, it’s best to have a trim every three months, on average. So, after the holidays, it’s time to pay your hairdresser a visit to trim off those dry, damaged tips and avoid any split ends appearing. And the beginning of autumn is a great time for a new hairstyle, so why not go for one of the hairstyles that are so in right now? A short bowl cut, a rounded bob, a graphic fringe or something else – treat yourself to a chic new look!
