Hairstyle

My hairstyle for a summer picnic

It’s not always possible to take two full months of vacation right in the middle of summer. Are you planning a stay-cation this summer and enjoying your own city? Make the most of your time off with girly catch-ups, drinks with friends and picnics on the weekend!

The hairstyle. Whether you take your picnic to the local park, picturesque gardens or even to the mountains, you’re bound to be enjoying your food somewhere at the heart of nature, meaning your hair should mirror this theme. Ideally, you should keep your locks away from your face, tied back so that you don’t need to adjust your style during the day. Why not give the braided crown a go this summer?

How to create the look. Here, the braided crown is slightly different to the one offered at the Jean Louis David Style Bar. The effect starts at the rear of the style, not near the front, for a more Heidi-esque look. To re-create at home, comb freshly washed hair into a side parting. You should leave the front section well alone, and only plait the rear of your style. Separate the bottom half into two sections near the nape of the neck, from one ear to the next. Next, braid into a French plait and secure with bobby pins. Repeat this on the upper section which will go over the top of your head. For a longer-lasting hold, spray evenly all over with hairspray.

Who can pull of this trend? This style is best created with shoulder length hair that is fairly soft for optimum results. This hair type is the best for styling the braided crown, however works just as well on other hair types too.
