Will a wispy fringe create added volume?

A good fringe never goes out of style! This face-framing accessory has been around for decades, yet has changed in shape and structure over time. Although the curtain and layered fringe are popular this season, the wispy fringe is just as on-trend and is a great option for those of you with flat hair.

The wispy fringe. This fairly thin fringe should be adapted to suit your hair type. In fact, women with thick hair need a much larger fringe than those with fine hair. Simple to style each morning, this fringe is the ideal solution for women who need a get-up-and-go style when they roll out of bed. What’s more, this wispy take on the fringe is one of the only varieties that will blend easily into the hair when you decide to grow it out.

Who can wear the trend? Ideally, your hair should be on the fine side and naturally straight for the wispy fringe to work. This is the only hair type that will enable you to wake up in the morning and not need to style your locks. You lucky few! Other hair types will need to be prepared to straighten their fringe each morning to obtain a similar end-result to the Preen runway models (pictured).

What to ask for in salon. Ask your stylist for a simple style that is structured, complete with a wispy fringe. The most important thing to keep in mind is that you can style your new fringe either to the side or worn naturally. Whichever you choose will always be easy to maintain. Less structured than the curtain fringe, this casual version will enable you to vary your look whilst adding an elegant feel. What better way to ooze femininity? Ask your stylist for some professional advice regarding the length and shape for optimum results.

Tempted by the wispy fringe? Make sure you keep your dry shampoo handy for any on-the-go touch ups to refresh your roots.
