Which shade of red is best for my hair?

Red hair is back with a bang for Spring-Summer 2014. Women who love to play with colour and show off their feisty personalities are the ideal candidates for this hair colour that will completely change your look, without a drastic hairstyle change.

Sometimes, women who yearn for red hair are afraid to take the plunge. ‘The perfect woman for red hair would ideally have pale, milky skin with hints of redness in her skin tone. However, this isn’t set in stone so don’t let this put you off. Every woman has a perfect shade of red for her skin tone. The shade of red you choose doesn’t always need to be a shocking colour’.

Just because you like the idea of going red, doesn’t mean you have to wear a flamboyant shade of this colour. ‘At your salon appointment, explain to your stylist the exact shade you’re after. Sometime, all you need is a subtle hint of copper in your hair, and this will minimize the risk of your hair colour going wrong. Blonde hair in particular has a tendency to turn bright red or brassy when going from blonde to red, whereas the risk of this happening to a brunette is fairly low. Your stylist will be able to tell you how much colour is right for your hair’.

Whatever your current hairstyle, a new vibrant shade of red is going to make your hair look amazing, no matter what. ‘Whether you choose a wavy bob, or long straight locks, every style will work with red hair. There’s a shade of red out there for every woman, you just have to find out which one is right for you. Be bold and give it a go!’.

Our tip: Between salon appointments, try using the Jean Louis David Colour Therapy range at home to keep you colour vibrant and fresh. Colour Therapy shampoo both hydrates and gives your hair added shine.
