Which hairbrush should I choose? Round, flat, air-cushioned...

Whether it’s for detangling, styling or straightening… The brush is quite simply essential on a daily basis! Thanks to our expert’s advice, learn how to choose the right kind of brush according to your needs.

A flat brush for styling

Flat or air-cushioned brushes are to be used every day. “They detangle the hair and gently straighten it. At Jean Louis David, we use ceramic flat brushes. They are anti-static and facilitate styling. At home, use whichever one you feel most comfortable with: a plastic brush, one with synthetic or natural bristles. A special mention for hog’s hair brushes which are renowned for making the hair shinier and promoting hydration.”

“You can get all sorts of brushes in salons or in any large supermarket”.

Our advice. Select the type of bristles according to the texture of your hair. If your hair is straight, opt for hard bristles. Alternatively, go for softer models if your hair is very wavy, even curly.

A round brush for blow-drying

It’s the essential product for creating a beautiful blow-dried style. “The round brush is remarkable for straightening out the cuticles on the hair shaft. It enables quick and precise work. To be effective, it must also be combined with a hairdryer. In fact, it’s the heat which enables the movement to be fixed in a long lasting way.”

Our advice. Do you wish to carry out flawless blow-drying*? Always work strand by strand, Wrap each strand around your brush, then pull on it by rotating your accessory. Repeat this all over your hair. To finish, apply hairspray for maximum hold.
