Which hair routine for my Contrast highlights?

Contrast is a technique exclusive to Jean Louis David salons; it creates a lightening effect which highlights areas the sun would naturally illuminate after a vacation! Discover how to look after your new treatment with our pro’s advice.

Contrast works best on lighter hair shades. ‘This coloring technique uses blonde, meaning light to medium base shades are a must for optimum results. Your stylist will only go 5 shades maximum above your natural shade to create your desired blonde hue. Dark hair types will see little result due to the strong pigmentation’.

Tempted to try out a Contrast treatment? Simply speak to your stylist! ‘This coloring technique can be personalized to your individual desires, meaning you can create any blonde shade you like by controlling development time. Leave on longer for a more noticeable result to get honey blonde or platinum blonde highlights, or remove after a short period for a light chestnut hue. This lightening treatment can also be adapted to suit your style and cut, ensuring it fits in with the rest of your look’.

Our advice: Once you’ve completed your new look, make sure you book an appointment with your stylist every 3-4 months for touch-ups. In the meantime, look after your color with specifically designed haircare products for sensitive hair such as those in the Colour Therapy range. Our top tip? Once a month, wash your hair with Energy and Brightness shampoo from the Silver Therapy range. Thanks to its purple pigments, its formula prevents blonde from appearing brassy and keeps your color looking fresh.
