We’re loving the new messy parting for guys

Men can follow hair trends too you know! From style to colour and even different partings. The latest trend is the messy parting, which was spotted on the Tillmann Lauterbach runway. This relaxed style proves that, sometimes, it’s not worth going through a lot of effort to create the ‘perfect’ style.

If you love quick, easy to create hairstyles with an edgy vibe, then look no further. The messy parting goes hand in hand with dishevelled hair and is great for anyone who doesn’t want to spend hours in the bathroom. The hair needs to be a certain length, however, to create the look. This hairstyle, which is inspired by the neo-grunge trend, is certainly no excuse to have greasy, dirty hair! Just because this style is messy, it doesn’t mean you can’t wash your hair.

The golden rule for creating the hairstyle is for your hair to look dishevelled, but still groomed. Play with the lengths of your hair, whether they are washed or not. These strands don’t need to be styled to perfection. Create a parting that doesn’t look too neat and tidy. Why not try a zig-zag parting with strands crossing over each side? For example, take a strand from the right side of your parting and bring it over to the left side and vice versa, for a unique look. The only rule to this style is to make it messy. To keep your style in place, rub a pea-sized amount of styling gel or mattifying paste between your palms and then run through the hair.
