Wanted: the low chignon and smoky eyes combo

Pair smoky eye make-up with an on-trend, sophisticated updo to create the perfect seductive look this season. Want to find out more about this must-have combo?

The trend. This look was spotted on the Chanel Spring-Summer 2015 runway show at Paris Fashion Week. Models were styled with low-slung chignons, structured with a centre parting. Hair was lightly backcombed at the crown to add a messy vibe. This style is perfect for focusing all of the attention onto your statement make-up. Make-up artists went for an intense, smoky eye look combined with a nude lip and even complexion.

Who can wear the low chignon and smoky eyes combo? Anyone who wants to define their peepers with a bold eye make-up look. On the runway, models were styled with ultra-chic outfits; perfect for a special occasion when you want to look feminine and glamorous.

Get the runway look. Start by washing your hair with Nutrition and Shine shampoo to ensure your hair looks glossy, soft and hydrated. Dry as normal, then part in the centre. Gather at the rear of the head and secure into a low chignon. Tease a few strands out of your updo to add a more relaxed feel to your style. Fix everything in place with hairspray. Moving onto make-up, begin by creating a good base, followed by a subtle pink or orange blush. Create your smoky eyes with a black eyeshadow shade, blending out towards the temple. Finally, add a subtle lipstick to complete your look.
