The pros: grey highlights on brunette locks

Grey hair is the new must-try shade this season and has been spotted on all the designer catwalks. Our pro explains how to try out this trend without ruining your beloved locks…

Opt for clip-in extensions to re-create this look for yourself. ‘This is the ideal compromise to avoid damaging your hair. If you do decide to go for a color, you’ll need several salon appointments to successfully lighten your hair to your desired shade. You’ll first need to go from brown to blonde, then blonde to white blonde, then white blonde to grey. Your stylist will have a challenge on their hands, despite only lightening a few selected pieces of hair. Think about whether you really want to run the risk of ruining your healthy hair’.

Even with extensions, you can create a natural finish. ‘Nobody will be able to tell you haven’t colored your own hair, especially if you place yours around the nape of the neck meaning they will blend in seamlessly with the rest of your style. Another option is to try out a wig. Keeping your hair in top condition is your number one priority! Creating a grey shade on brunette hair will be difficult to reverse’.

Our advice: This spring, colored locks are more on-trend than ever. If you want to add an original touch to your style, why not give pink clip-in extensions a go? Or even green and blue? That’s right… colorful highlights are sticking around for the foreseeable future!
