The pros discuss the floral turban

In summer, the turban is one of the best accessories for protecting hair from the sun. Learn how to position your turban and style your locks into a retro-look, perfect for sunny days.

The turban is an extremely chic and pretty accessory. ‘It creates the same stylish effect as wearing a hat, except with the turban, the hair’s air supply is not cut-off completely. However, if you decide to wear a turban, you need to be prepared to wear it all day long, as it can be fairly difficult to remove’.

Don’t stress about what your hair looks like underneath your turban, just keep it practical! ‘Our only piece of advice is to keep hair tied up. Women with short hair will not have this problem. A few clips will keep your look in place. The turban is a great way to give your style a touch of volume and complete your overall look’.

Turbans tend to be elasticated and sit on top of your head. ‘If your turban isn’t like this, simply take a lightweight scarf and wrap around your head, from the nape of the neck upwards. Tie at the front into a small knot, or at the back of your style for a more discreet finish. This accessory was often worn by Hollywood stars such as Greta Garbo. They proudly cemented their style status whilst adding a touch of elegance to their outfits thanks to the turban’.

Our advice: The turban is perfect for protecting your hair whilst on vacation or at the beach. However, this isn’t the most lightweight of accessories and may get damp if you get splashed by the ocean waves. If you’re going for a dip outdoors, opt for a lightweight hat instead.
