The Pros: curls paired with the short bob

Wearing curls with a style that compliments their natural shape is the ultimate goal this season….and just so happens to be the look our model (pictured) has chosen today. The pros give their opinion on this structured, yet feminine, cut.

Curls on a short bob are much easier to look after, especially if yours are natural. ‘These types of curls are oh-so simple to style each morning as they tend to fall into place by themselves. As for our model, she simply adds a handful of mousse then blow dries and tongs certain pieces to make them stand out’,

Women with straight hair will find it much more difficult to achieve a natural effect. ‘If your hair is super straight, you’ll need to use a curling iron. Ideally, however, you should only ask for this cut if your locks are naturally curly with subtle layers. Otherwise, styling your hair each morning will become a never-ending task!’

If it’s beautiful curls you’re after, you’ll need to use the correct styling products. ‘After shampooing your locks, apply Curl Therapy all over. Next, before drying with the hairdryer, add a touch of Perfect Curl to define your waves and give them structure’.

Our advice: Good haircare products will of course help to achieve natural curls, however layers are the best way to encourage any natural wave you may already have. At your salon appointment, ask your stylist to add some structure to your cut. Here, our model’s style is less structured and more bob-shaped.
