The geometric bob and headband combo

60s style is still going strong and isn’t about to go anywhere anytime soon! The proof behind this lies in the recent Marc Jacobs runway show (pictured). This popular trend is synonymous with an era where feminist movements were a regular occurrence, dictators were overthrown and structured feminine hairstyles made their first appearance. The pros give their advice on how to style a geometric bob with a headband accessory.

The 60s was a truly significant era, for several different reasons. ‘The 60s was an important time frame for women everywhere, who experimented with their newfound freedom and were free to wear experimental styles. Women today are still wearing these looks thanks to their timeless appeal’.

The 60s revolutionised hairstyles for women. ‘Previously, women never really cut their hair into specific styles, meaning the new structured shapes emerging were considered to be a revelation. From then on, women had the confidence to play around with different styles and looks’.

The model pictured is wearing a headband which is very typical of the 60s. ‘The headband can sometimes be considered too preppy or old-school, however this version is neither. This take on a 60s classic is sophisticated and adds a retro feel to any outfit. The geometric bob is the ideal style pairing for this feminine accessory’.

Our advice: It’s totally up to you to decide where to wear your headband. Although some women prefer to wear it in the centre of their hair, other like to place theirs right at the front, hiding their roots. The headband is a real must-have accessory for autumn-winter 2014-2015.
