This season, the Jean Louis David Style Bar is giving the high ponytail pride of place with a twist, incorporating nineties details to give you a look that is both fun and sophisticated. We're taking a closer look at this up-do from the Spring-Summer 2018 Inside collection, which can be created in the salon in 15 minutes for just 15€!
It is a ponytail that has been crimped at random along the lengths, worn ultra-high and to one side. For this original up-do, your hairstylist will start by sleek blow-drying your hair before styling your locks to one side using a crimper. They will press your locks between the notched plates of the crimper to mark out a zigzag pattern in your hair. Then, they will crimp certain sections from the roots down to the tips and other sections only partially. Next comes the moment where they gather up your locks at the top of your head for a 90's style fountain ponytail. The hair is slicked back at the front and the up-do is placed off-centre (whether it's on the left or right doesn't matter,) then fixed in place with an elasticated hair tie. Next the hair stylist will braid a small section of the ponytail and wrap it around the base of the up-do to conceal the hair tie. A mist of Fix Ultime ultra-hold hairspray is applied as a finishing touch, so you know your hairstyle will hold no matter what.
Designed for those with mid-length to long hair, this hairstyle has a high fashion feel to it and is perfect for sophisticated ladies who love to stand out from the crowd.
This relatively unstructured version of the ponytail is ideal for a highly on-trend party look or just an evening amongst friends!
