Streetstyle: Wearing a hat without ruining your hairstyle

Most guys’ hair isn’t long enough to protect their ears from the cold. Wearing a hat is therefore essential when the temperature starts to drop. This season, statement hats are the new ‘in’ style for men. But there are other hats that can be worn to keep the ears warm and maintain your hairstyle.

The hair. Our streetstyle pick today is rocking short back and sides with a slightly longer fringe at the front. This style is pretty easy to maintain day-to-day. In fact, the sides of the hair are so short that they don’t need to be gelled to keep them in place. In winter, not much of his style is on show thanks to his hat…it’s way too cold! To keep his look stylish, he has chosen a hat that complements his own style perfectly. Slightly raised from the head, rolled up and a dark colour: the perfect way to spend winter in style.

The look. Chic and urban. Suit trousers, a shirt and leather shoes make up his work-wear outfit today. A grey wool scarf and belted coat have been added to keep him warm in the winter months. To personalise his quirky look on the way to work, he pairs a cool pair of sunglasses with his hat.

Tip of the day. Some hair types get greasy quickly when wearing a hat which cuts off the hair’s air supply. Take inspiration form our streetstyle pick and wear a hat that allows the roots of the hair to breathe. If, despite doing this, your hair still gets greasy quickly, try using Control Therapy Shampoo to control the amount of sebum the hair produces, or use a dry shampoo to absorb oil.
