Step-by-step tutorial: the herringbone braid

One of this season’s must-have styles, the herringbone braid, is a look in every fashionistas repertoire thanks to its relaxed, romantic and bohemian feel. Discover our top tips to getting this runway look for yourself at home in under 10 minutes.

The trend. This original look was recently spotted on the Leonard Autumn-Winter 2014-2015 runway show at Paris Fashion week. Hair was styled with long lengths and a block color, paired with a sophisticated outfit to balance things out. You can, however, choose to wear yours with a hippy-chic, urban or even casual look for a more relaxed feel.

Who can wear the mohair braid? If you’re a fan of all things ‘boho’, this easy-to-create hairstyle was made for you and only takes a couple of minutes to complete.

Get the runway look. Before starting, shake some Texture Powder into your roots to create more volume. Next, create a side parting and sweep the rest of your hair over to the opposite side. You can now loosely braid your lengths, securing at the ends with a hair tie. Once complete, gently tease out sections of your braid with your fingertips to loosen things up even more: you should be aiming for a messy, undone effect. Want to replicate the runway look? Incorporate your favorite scarf into your plait whilst braiding for an on-trend and personalized end-result.
