Spring-summer 2013: the winter styles we no longer want to see

There are winter hairstyles we’ll be keeping, and winter hairstyles we’ll be leaving behind or forgetting altogether. To follow the trends, read our guide!

Ultra-straight hair. You couldn’t bring yourself to leave this ultra-straight hair phenomenon behind. Long, ultra-straight hair, the ultra-straight ponytail, the ultra-straight side hair, etc. This spring-summer, let yourself go and forget rigid, poker-straight styles. Hair should be wavy and tousled –  perfectly disorderly!

The XXL quiff. The quiff has been the go-to style for rock hair and a rock style for a good few seasons now. This season, it has stepped aside to make way for slick hair, windswept pieces and thinned fringes.

White blond. Save colder colours for the colder seasons! White blond has been a huge hit the past two seasons, but in autumn-winter. For spring-summer, go for a golden blond or the very trendy ash blond.

The French twist. It comes in many different forms. The French twist can be rock ’n’ roll, romantic, tousled, braided, and accessorised. It was the centre of attention last season, so leave it out next season…

The diagonal parting. For something a little different or to simply give your hairstyle an asymmetric dimension, the diagonal parting is a great option. Swap this structured parting for less rigid partings such as the centre or side parting.
