Searching for an instant face lift? Try the low-slung ponytail

This season, fall head over heels in love with the low-slung ponytail styles spotted on the Alexander Wang Spring-Summer 2015 runway. Let’s take a closer look at this parting-free, chic look which opens up the face and instantly lifts the wearer’s features.

The trend. A low-slung ponytail with slicked back roots. Lengths, however, were worn loose and natural, free from any product. If you want to add an original touch to your style, play with textures; straighten, curl, scrunch…it’s totally up to your individual tastes. Combine with a nude make-up look and a sophisticated outfit with subtle pops of color.

Who can wear the low-slung ponytail? Anybody looking for a simple and elegant style that makes your face and make-up the star of the show. This look is oh-so simple to style and is perfect for any occasion, meaning you really can’t go wrong! Its face-lifting effect is one of the main advantages behind this style, as well as being ideal for hairstyle novices. Features appear naturally lifted in under 10 minutes…we’re sold!

Get the runway look. After washing and carefully drying your locks, gather towards the nape of the neck with a hairbrush. Secure into a low-slung ponytail and tie tightly to create a lifting effect. However, don’t pull too tightly as this can cause the hair to break under pressure. Next, apply a small amount of gel to the root area to add a high-shine finish, and straighten your lengths. Finish with a layer of hairspray for a long-lasting hold.
