Men: care tips for a shaved head

Some men shave their head so they no longer have to worry about their hair. But even a shaved head requires regular care! Here’s a look at the important steps to follow to look after a shaved head.

More and more men are choosing to shave their heads. “Once upon a time only men suffering from hair loss chose to shave their head. But today, more and more men want to get rid of their hair. Whether they’re sporty or simply fed up of having to style their hair, more and more men are turning to the clippers. Baldness is probably still the most popular reason for head shaving.”

People tend to think that a shaved head requires less work, this is false. “Some people opt for 2 in 1 shower gels and shampoos, but a shaved head needs its own shampoo as well. The scalp still suffers from the same issues, with or without hair. People with dandruff still need to use anti-dandruff shampoo, whether they have hair or not! Also, as your head is no longer protected by your hair, you must remember to hydrate it and use sun protection in summer.”

Our tip: Without hair, the scalp hardens more easily. “Moisturising and scalp massages are both very important. To stop it looking unsightly, massage your scalp each time you wash your hair to lift and soften it.”
