Marjorie’s most radical hair makeover

“My hair is often the first thing people notice, and I can see why! But what people don’t know is how long I have to spend in the bathroom to get it looking like this! Although I love my curly hair, it tends to be quite dry and frizzy. So it’s all thanks to lots of daily upkeep and styling… But to give myself a bit of a break I decided try out a radical new solution: Japanese hair straightening.

I’ve had curly hair since the day I was born. It was always a mammoth task for my mother, who used to spend a crazy amount of time applying treatments, styling it and untangling it. When I reached my teens, I dreamt about one thing: having straight hair, like the stars of my favourite TV shows who flounced around with sleek, straight, just-out-of-the-salon hair. But my mother didn’t want to hear it. She didn’t want me to ruin my hair or cause damage trying to straighten it.

The years went by and I just put up with it. But when I discovered Japanese straightening, it was a revelation! A method which could give you long-lasting straight hair without causing damage? Nothing was going to stop me! I went straight to the salon. And today it’s a miracle: I no longer spend hours doing my hair in the morning. My hair falls into place naturally and I take care of it every day to keep it looking beautiful and soft.

This is a huge and noticeable change for me. My boyfriend didn’t even recognise me when I came out of the salon!”
