Lion king hair

Retro hair has taken over the runways yet again this autumn-winter in the form of ultra-backcombed, ultra-boosted hair that screams volume. At Carolina Herrera it’s all about the 60s, for both clothing and hair designs.

Lion king hair for a retro look. Try out this lion’s mane style for a modern-day baby doll effect. This style, full of body, takes us back to the 60s when hair was backcombed to the extreme. Today’s hair trend is retro and backcombed for XXL body-boosted styles. At Carolina Herrera, this maximum volume is taken to the extreme, but it can also be tamed down for an everyday look!

How to get lion king hair. To achieve this impeccably structured volume, start by applying a styling mousse to clean, towel-dried hair. Now blow-dry your hair as straight as you can. The main thing is to get the mid-lengths and ends ultra-straight, so, if you need to, use straighteners to get them looking super-sleek. Once your hair is dry, slick the front down (use a fixing gel if you like) and place a headband – fixed or stretchy – near your forehead. Go for something thin and understated. Now create volume at the back of your head by generously backcombing your hair. Focus on the roots and backcomb inside the hair so that it’s not visible. Don’t brush your hair afterwards, this will ruin the backcombing. You decide how much volume you’re after. Finally, spray a generous amount of hairspray over the style to hold it in place.
