Light brown hair: which color streaks will enhance my locks?

Whether you opt for streaks or highlights, don’t hold back in illuminating your light brown hair with beautiful varying tones. Here are our top colors to adopt for boosting your hair’s shine!

Opt for warm colors

If you wish to obtain natural looking streaks, you should make your hair lighter by a maximum of 3 tones. It’s also an indisputable rule to follow so as not to damage your hair. To make your choice, it’s then a matter of colorimetry. Light brown is a natural color, made up of red pigments. When lightened, the first highlights to appear will be dark red. When you move down 3 tones, you get orange yellow/dark yellow. This corresponds to honey colors. Therefore, opt for dark blond streaks, chestnut blond or golden blond. Avoid light blonds at all costs, as they are too far away from your base color.

Is making my light brown hair darker a good idea?

This technique is strongly inadvisable. Furthermore, it is not offered in Jean Louis David salons. In fact, a Contrast only aims at making your hair lighter. Why? Because light brown with darker streaks entails too much upkeep. The color risks being washed out very quickly and ‘ageing badly’ over time. Also, it would be very complicated for your hairdresser to touch up the roots. Finally, this kind of technique doesn’t guarantee an attractive or elegant result.

How do I maintain my streaks?

Once you have had your streaks put in, visit your salon every 6 weeks to get your roots done and to boost your color. Finally, look after your hair with products from the Color Therapy range. Wash it two to three times a week with Intense Color shampoo. Once a week, let the Deep Color mask sink into damp hair for a few minutes before rinsing thoroughly. By doing this, you will preserve your light brown color’s shine for weeks!
