Layering: should I, shouldn’t I?

“Should I get layers or not?” is a common question for many women when thinking about their next haircut. The answer is simple: add layers if you want to add volume. Ask your stylist at your Jean Louis David salon for some professional advice at your next appointment.

Layers are ideal for adding more body and movement to your style. ‘Your stylist will know how many layers your style can take. Have a chat with them before going for the chop to decide whether layers are the right choice for your individual hair type’.

This season at Jean Louis David, layers are at the top of our list when it comes to must-have looks. ‘Our style collection for this season is full of layered looks for both short, mid and long-length hair. Layers are a great way to change your style on a daily basis, as they give you much more versatility. Take a look at our look book if you need more convincing that layers equal volume’.

Is your hair on the fine side? Leave layers to girls with thick hair. ‘The finer your hair, the less layers will work for your style. In fact, layering will only worsen the problem, making your hair appear even thinner’.

Our advice: Before you make your final decision, ask your stylist for their professional advice. Only a qualified stylist will be able to help you decide whether layers will work with your hair type. Got the green light from the salon? You can look forward to thicker, fuller-looking hair.
